Bruno de Lambert the owner of Chateau de Sales acted as master of ceremonies for the induction and warmly welcomed all present to the event before introducing the new members to a small audience in the grand courtyard. Built in the 17th century, Chateau de Sales is the largest vineyard estate in Pomerol and has been held now in the same family for more than 500 years. Amongst the new members were Michael Denton from Decanter France, Catherine Leparmentier a director of Great Wine Capitals, Derek Wu the deputy general.

Set in the stunning grounds of Chateau de Sales the Hospitaliers de Pomerol recently held their induction ceremony to formally welcome new members to their prestigious order. Amongst the new members were Michael Denton from Decanter France, Catherine Leparmentier a director of Great Wine Capitals, Derek Wu the deputy general manager of China Milon Wines, Mrs Stella Mak the executive director of Milion wines and Laurent Moujon the author of the Guide Book on Bordeaux’s Vineyards called “Bordeaux Patrimoine Mondial et Routes des Vines”. For us at Vineyards-Bordeaux however, we could not have been more proud of our own Li Lijuan “Lily” who was sworn in with this high powered international group of wine aficionados.

The Hospitaliers de Pomerol was formed in 1968 reflecting the extraordinary growth in popularity that the Pomerol AOC has received during the past half century amongst its fellow Bordeaux vineyard AOC’s. Following in the traditions of the St Emilion “Jurade” The Hospitaliers are charged with the task of promoting Pomerol to those whom they have influence with both in France and internationally. Lily has had an important role in the ever growing relations between Chinese investors and Bordeaux over the past five years since she arrived here. Having managed a significant estate in the Entre-deux-Mers for a Chinese buyer, co-written a book about pairing Bordeaux wine with Chinese foods and now overseeing the Vineyards-Bordeaux “China desk” she assists Chinese nationals with expert advice and investment opportunities for those seeking to buy a Bordeaux chateau vineyard.
