SCEA Chateau Masburel represented by Mr.Julian Robbins, the seller, had acquired the property in 2008 from Olivia and Neil Donnan. The company share transaction was also handled by Karin Maxwell at that time. Chris Walker is the third British owner of this remarkable property which has now been in British ownership continuously since 1997.

The estate sits on the ridge of hills north of the Dordogne river, which runs from west to east from Pomerol, Saint Emilion to Cotes de Castillon and beyond to the Dordogne. The property has a total area of approximately 33.40 ha and has approx. 16.23 ha of vines in production, and can produce under the following appellations: AOC Bergerac, AOC Cotes de Bergerac, AOC MONTRAVEL, AOC Cotes de Montravel and AOC Haut-Montravel. 75% Red wine and 25% white wine.

There is a very attractive Chartreuse style house with 2 wings forming a courtyard, 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, 5 large reception rooms. The outbuildings include the winery, a large modern storage facility, a former barrel chai, a tractor store and an independent cottage.

Client's Perspective

We were looking for a vineyard which also had the potential to create good accommodation so that we can create a special place to hold events which will have a wine theme and experience. Watch this space...
