Appellation

AOC Montagne St Emilion

Vendor

Mr Andre Benoist

Acquirers

Australian investor

The Safer were involved on the basis of a substitution clause and a land swap was negotiated with a neighbour due to an incorrect parcel boundary. Vineyards-Bordeaux negotiated a 4 year wine purchase agreement between the buyer and SAS La Bergère, the Bordeaux negoçiant firm. The buyer will be investing heavily in capital expenditures such as a winery renovation and agricultural improvements including a fertilisation program. Vineyards-Bordeaux were involved in the development of the buyer’s business plan and implementing a post-purchase management team.

Client's Perspective

Australia is having a love affair with Bordeaux and its wines at the moment. However, although we will pursue domestic Australian markets, our plan is to maintain many of the existing distribution channels that the Benoist family have established. We believe that the St Emilion satellite appellations provide a very interesting investment opportunity and we are also excited to be able to work with Camille Benoist to develop wine distribution in the future.
